After days filled with celebrations and blessings, the time had finally come to say goodbye to Kopiago (and for the people to say goodbye to their beloved parish priest, Father Jerome, who had served them for the past ten years.)
The main purpose for our pastoral visit to St Rupert Parish, Lake Kopiago was for the blessing of the new church building... however, we soon discovered that there were many other inspiring aspects to our visit.
On this third installment of the pastoral visit to Saint Rupert Parish, Lake Kopiago we witness more blessings.
As we arrived at the mission station, we are awed by the sight of the new church. Lake Kopiago, as mentioned, is located in the most remote area of the Diocese of Mendi. The only way to get to Lake Kopiago is by small plane. At dry times, it is possible, though potentially dangerous, to attempt a land route.
